HRAA takes a forward looking approach to clinical and translational research, by focusing on integrating and interfacing investigators, organizations, and resources throughout a State, rather than focusing on a single academic medical center or even a local region. Arizona has made a great deal of bold commitments to biomedical science, yet at the same time, it does not have huge legacy investments in infrastructure that would lock Arizona into hard-to-integrate clusters of institutional silos. This provides a unique opportunity to forge a collaborative statewide approach that can serve as the underpinning for future growth.
